light-bulb-in-handHave you ever had an amazing idea, or dreamt of accomplishing some huge goal, only to remember that every dream before it fell by the wayside? You wouldn’t be the only one.

Now before I go any further, let me say that dreams are wonderful and have led to some of the most amazing accomplishments and opportunities this world has ever seen. But for most of us, dreams don’t amount to much. So today, I’d like to give you 5 ways to help your dreams become realities.

  1. Make sure your goals are written down (with an end date) and are known by someone else.

Without writing down your goals, they are nothing more than empty thoughts. Additionally, bringing someone else into the know provides support and accountability.

  1. Be clear to separate necessities from desires.

I often hear young/new business owners share these big goals like “I would love to make $10,000 per month.” That is wonderful, but if you are currently earning $1,000 per month, that $10k number may not be appropriate for now. At the same time, if you need to make $4,000 per month, be clear about that. Needs typically drive us to achieve our goals in a more effective manner.

  1. Be in good company.

If you are around a bunch of dreamers that haven’t achieved their goals, you don’t have speaking into how it’s done. Find successful people that will not only inspire you to dream, but enable you to achieve by offering valuable tools and tips along the way.

  1. Quit doing what isn’t working

It sounds simple enough, but often times it is not. Quitting things we have grown comfortable and accustomed to doing can be very difficult, especially when we have found some previous success doing them. But if they aren’t currently working, think hard about changing things up.

  1. More time and effort

When people set goals, or dream dreams, they think in terms of the path of least resistance. That’s great, but the reality for most everyone is that it takes a lot longer and involves more investment (energy and money) than they planned for. And because of that, they become burnt out or broke before they achieve their goal(s). You know you best, so add a buffer :).

Dreams are awesome, and necessary for the greatness we all depend on to progress. But if we aren’t bringing them to reality, it does not good for anyone.

I have been fortunate enough to help multiple business owners and salespeople create the right processes which lead them to achieve success. If you are interested in doing the same, give me a call or shoot me an email so we can have a conversation to discuss making your dreams realities.
